Harvey Chan Memorial Scholarship

The Harvey Chan Memorial Scholarship was established in 2018 to commemorate the life of Harvey Chan and to continue his legacy. Harvey was well respected in the industry and seen by many as a leader who not only had an eye for precise detail, but truly was a life-long learner.  The scholarship has synergy with Harvey’s passion to bring education to America’s youth in the industry. This scholarship will be awarded annually for a recipient to attend technical training at the VISION HiTech Training & Expo. Candidates for this scholarship must complete the application below and applications will be reviewed by a committee of family and friends. This scholarship was made possible through generous donations to share Harv’s love for great training. A 4-day Power Pass training package and ticket to the Awards Dinner/Comedy Night is awarded through this scholarship.

A Message from Harvey's Family

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Harvey Chan. Harv moved on peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday April 12, 2018 at 12:15pm. In true Harv style, he left us with no unfinished business. Because he/(we) were given the luxury of a little time between diagnosis and death, this extremely humble man was made aware of the impact he had on everyone in all aspects of his life. From those of us in his family and personal life, I could go on for hours. Suffice it to say "lucky us." For those of you in his industry and friend's world, "lucky you." Without the connection to you, he would not have had a conduit for his incredible intelligence and thirst to learn. Because of you, he has been complete and content in his professional life. For the riders, thanks for sharing in the joy he got from the adventures we have had. Riding with the people you respect, and their abilities you trust, made for some safe, long rides. Harv was saddened that he wouldn't be around for all that he planned. After several weeks of crappy weather, the sun appeared around 11am on Thursday, kickstand up and away he went. "Ride on my love." It has been my privilege and honor to share this amazing man with so many, for so long.

Thank you all, Pat
